An ultralight is a small and lightweight aircraft, often put together from a kit. It has a small engine and flies slowly. It flies best on days without much wind. Ultralights cost much less than other airplanes. Pilots do not need a regular license to fly an ultralight, but flying them does require skill and a knowledge of flight.
